    Aims

    The aims for this course are to catch up with the most recent AI tools, to create and generate different kinds of science communication content with AI tools, to expand your creativity and explore new possibilities and to learn the basics of science communication.

    Content

    The workshop is designed to introduce attendees to the exciting world of AI and its potential for enhancing creativity in writing and science communication by providing hands-on experience in using AI tools and techniques to boost productivity, generate new ideas and test new forms of science communication. The workshop is suitable for anyone interested in using technology to enhance their creative process. No prior experience is required, as the class also teaches the basics of science communication. However, it is required to bring a computer, as well as a running version of chatGPT-4.

    About the Trainer

    The trainer is Mirko Bischofberger, PhD, a lecturer and expert in Science Communication at EPFL, ETH Zurich and University of Zurich. He studied molecular biology and bioinformatics at ETH Zurich and holds a PhD from EPFL. After working for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the Swiss Parliament, he continued to the SNSF and EPFL.

    Feature

    Once registration is open, applications will be collected for 24 hours and course places allocated by lot. All registrations received after the initial 24h period will be put on a waiting list and assigned on a first come, first served basis.

    Course places/places on the waiting list will be confirmed by e-mail. Course registrations can only be canceled before the registration period ends (send an e-mail to grace@unibas.ch). Full course attendance is mandatory. Participants who fail to attend a course without prior notification or withdraw after the registration deadline are subject to a fee of CHF 30. In addition, participants who cancel their course registration at a later point in time, are absent without an excuse or do not attend the entire course will, for reasons of fairness, not be considered for course registration in the following semester and will be removed from other courses offered in the same semester.
