Teaching My First Course (24H05007) ONLINE

Beschreibung

As a doctoral student, you are beginning a journey that will accompany you throughout your career: the journey of teaching students. This essential part of being an academic entails sharing your expertise, but also guiding students as they grow and learn. Perhaps you’re looking forward to this challenge, but you may also be feeling insecure. This module will give you more clarity and confidence as you begin teaching. You will learn a systematic approach to planning classes that motivate and engage students, develop your own set of effective teaching tools, and learn tips and tricks for dealing with difficult situations to make sure your classes run smoothly. In every session, you can raise any challenges you are currently facing and discuss them with your colleagues and trainer. The last session will also focus on how your initial teaching experiences will specifically impact the classes you teach in the future. We want to help you get your teaching career off to a successful start with support from your peers.

Requirements for a certificate of completion:
- Minimum attendance at the class: 80%
- Proof of performance: portfolio
