Module V of the INSIDE series is aimed at all professors at the University of Basel. This optional workshop presents practical case studies and insights on the topics of early detection, conflict prevention, analysis, and resolution in everyday university life.
Conflicts are a part of everyday life at universities-whether within teams, research collaborations, or challenging stakeholder relationships. In this concise workshop, professors will analyze specific situations from their daily work and, together with an experienced mediator, develop effective strategies for handling difficult conversations, emotional dynamics, and complex conflicts of interest. A good toolkit helps participants intervene early on with confidence, in a tailored manner, and with minimal effort.
Professors at the University of Basel
Karin Frei is a Partner at komet-beratung and a certified mediator (SDM/FSM). She worked for nearly 30 years at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) as an editorial manager, presenter, and journalist.
Drawing on her extensive media experience, she is an expert in public communication and media relations. Her particular area of expertise is facilitating complex multi-party discussions and resolving challenging conflicts.
