Leadership Basic is a multi-month learning journey for faculty and staff with leadership roles, designed to make modern leadership at the University of Basel tangible, practical, and effective. The journey combines training sessions, peer learning, practical assignments, and learning nuggets to foster sustainable skill development.

Participants gradually develop the skills they need to lead effectively in a complex university environment, especially in times shaped by digitalization, AI initiatives, and cultural change.

Participation at Leadership Connect is recommended for participants of the Leadership Basic Program. Upon separateregistration, the event is also open to all leaders at the University of Basel.
Members of faculty and staff with direct or lateral responsibilities who are new to their role. Employed under a contract at the University of Basel.
Further programs are planned in German for the spring semester of 2027 and in English for the fall semester of 2027. Each program runs over several months.
