    Ziele

    By the end of the workshop, you will:
    - have acquired basic knowledge about forward-thinking and vision-oriented teaching methods
    - have a thorough understanding of the Future Workshop methodology and its phases
    - reflect on how implementing the Future Workshop method in your teaching can enhance the development of forward-thinking skills among your students

    Kursinhalte

    In this four-hour online course, we initially delve into the relevance of future orientation and anticipatory thinking. We provide an overview of diverse vision-oriented methods within education for sustainable development (ESD). The course specifically examines the application of the Future Workshop, a methodology designed to constructively and creatively envision future solutions to current challenges, as a means to enhance ESD in higher education teaching.
    The workshop offers a balanced blend of theoretical insights and hands-on implementation of the methodology.

    Topics covered:
    - Overview of vision-oriented and forward-thinking methodologies within ESD
    - Introduction to the Future Workshop method and its three stages: critical analysis phase (determination of the current problem), visionary phase (generating solutions to the problem), and implementation phase
    - Practical application of the Future Workshop method
    - Discussion of the possible applications of the Future Workshop method in Higher Education teaching

    Prof. Dr. Marco Rieckmann, Professor of Higher Education Development, focus on key competencies, in the Department of Education at Faculty I at the University of Vechta; Sustainability Officer at the University of Vechta. Main areas of work: Higher Education Development, (higher) education for sustainable development, sustainable university development.

    Leistungsspektrum / Workload

    Total of 5h (course attendance 4h, self-study 1h)

    Besonderheiten

    Once registration is open, applications will be collected for 24 hours and course places allocated by lot. All registrations received after the initial 24h period will be put on a waiting list and assigned on a first come, first served basis.

    Course places/places on the waiting list will be confirmed by e-mail. Course registrations can only be canceled before the registration period ends (send an e-mail to grace@unibas.ch). Full course attendance is mandatory. Participants who fail to attend a course without prior notification or withdraw after the registration deadline are subject to a fee of CHF 30. In addition, participants who cancel their course registration at a later point in time, are absent without an excuse or do not attend the entire course will, for reasons of fairness, not be considered for course registration in the following semester and will be removed from other courses offered in the same semester.
