    Ziele

What is Ethics of Science? Why is ethical reflection essential to scientific research? What does responsible research mean? Do the principles of research ethics apply to all disciplines? Is research ethics a limit to, or a condition for academic freedom? How can principles of research ethics be concretely implemented in the conception and conduct of research projects?
This interdisciplinary workshop is a general introduction to the main principles, concepts and issues in ethics of science. The workshop provides case studies and hands-on experiences, aiming to raise awareness among the participants on issues of e.g. professional and social responsibility, scientific good practices, as well as research with human and non-human subjects. During the workshop, participants will also have many opportunities for discussing interactively concrete ethical problems and applying it to their own discipline.
