Leadership Connect 2026 (NEW) (26H01003)

Reflect on leadership. Share experiences. Develop leadership together.

Description

Leadership at a university means being effective in diverse roles, contexts, and areas of tension - in teams and research groups, in projects and collaborations.

Leadership Connect offers you, as a leader at the University of Basel, a space to reflect on your own leadership practices, learn from one another, gain new perspectives, and actively help shape the university’s leadership culture.

The focus is on the University of Basel’s new leadership competencies - not as a theoretical model, but as a guide for concrete leadership situations and challenges you face in your day-to-day university life.

    What You’ll Take Away

Leadership Connect combines personal reflection, peer exchange, and collaborative learning. You’ll…

    • reflect on your own leadership practices based on specific experiences and challenges,

    • apply your new leadership skills to your day-to-day leadership role,

    • gain insight into the perspectives, experiences, and approaches of other leaders,

    • gain fresh insights into current leadership issues and expand your repertoire of approaches,

    • expand your network across departments, functions, and hierarchical levels, and

    • help shape how leadership and leadership culture at the University of Basel should evolve.

The goal is not to find a single “correct” solution for leadership situations. Different leadership contexts, experiences, and perspectives are deliberately drawn upon to learn from one another and develop new courses of action.

    Methods

Leadership Connect is designed to be dialog-based, experiential, and participatory. Using methods from the Art of Hosting, you’ll work on real-life leadership experiences and current issues, exchange perspectives, and collaboratively develop ideas for the future leadership culture at the University of Basel.

You are not just a listener: your experiences, questions, and perspectives are an essential part of the program.

    Target Group

Leaders at all hierarchical and experience levels who lead teams, research groups, or projects at the University of Basel.

    Requirements

Interesse an Führung und Zusammenarbeit sowie Offenheit für Austausch, unterschiedliche Perspektiven und gemeinsames Lernen.
