Aims
This course allows students to experience the joy of negotiation once it is viewed as a game.
Working experientially, we will explore the differences between Win-Win and Win-Lose, come to experience the natural dynamics of cooperation vs competition and learn how to reach a Win-Win result playfully.
Content
• Basic principles of the Harvard method
• Dynamics of negotiation
• Strategic goal-setting
• Empathy and active listening
• Strategic preparation
Methods
The course is very interactive and focuses on experiential learning rather than traditional lectures or PowerPoint presentations.
Short simulations and games will be alternated with interactive inputs outlining the basics of the “Harvard” approach to negotiation.
The emphasis is on doing, rather than talking about something, then reflecting and receiving feedback.
Target Group
Advanced Doctorial Candidates & Postdocs
