Aims
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- have a basic understanding of sustainability / sustainable development, with a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals
- develop a general understanding of ESD
- acquire introductory knowledge of sustainability competencies and corresponding pedagogical principles of ESD
- critically reflect on this knowledge and apply it to your own courses, aiming to support and encourage students in becoming change agents for sustainable development

-Education for sustainable development (ESD)
-Objectives and pedagogical principles of ESD
-Development of sustainability competencies and values
-A brief introduction to ESD methods
-Reflections on implementing ESD in your own university teaching

About the Trainer
Prof. Dr. Marco Rieckmann, Professor of Higher Education Development, focus on key competencies, in the Department of Education at Faculty I at the University of Vechta; Sustainability Officer at the University of Vechta. Main areas of work: Higher Education Development, (higher) education for sustainable development, sustainable university development.
