    Aims

    Objectives

    This introductory course covers

    · How to log in to Consensus
    · What content can be found on Consensus and how it is presented
    · What to keep in mind when using Consensus (and similar tools)
    · What responsible, scientifically, and ethically sound use of AI tools entails

    Content

AI-powered research tools are becoming increasingly common in academic settings. They offer an interesting complement to traditional academic search interfaces, such as library catalogues or databases. For example, Consensus allows for natural language search queries, interaction with uploaded full-text articles, and the generation of bibliographies.

But how can these features be used effectively while at the same time maintaining a critical perspective?
And what are the strengths and weaknesses of these tools?

Using Consensus as a case study, this introductory course discusses the possibilities, limitations, and challenges of using AI for academic research.
