Die Fachstelle für Nachhaltigkeit integriert Nachhaltigkeit als Querschnittsthema in alle Bereiche der Universität und initiiert, begleitet und koordiniert Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen an der Universität. Sie berät das Rektorat sowie andere universitäre Einheiten zu Fragen der Nachhaltigkeit und entwickelt Instrumente zur langfristigen institutionellen Verankerung von Nachhaltigkeit an der Universität Basel. Eigene Projekte setzt sie in enger Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Bereichen und Abteilungen um.

Das Förderprogramm «Impuls» ist ein Angebot der Fachstelle für Nachhaltigkeit und unterstützt Dozierende aller Fachbereiche, die Themen der Nachhaltigkeit in ihre Lehrveranstaltung integrieren möchten. Davon profitieren auch Studierende, die dadurch befähigt werden, sich privat und im Beruf kompetent für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung einzusetzen.

The Sustainability Office integrates sustainability as a cross-cutting topic into all areas of the university and initiates, supports and coordinates sustainability initiatives at the university. It advises the president's board and other university departments on sustainability issues and develops instruments for the long-term institutional integration of sustainability at the University of Basel. The Sustainability Office implements its own projects in close cooperation with other divisions and departments.

The support program «Impuls» is offered by the Sustainability Office and supports lecturers from all disciplines who wish to integrate sustainability topics into their courses. This also benefits students who are thereby enabled to make a competent contribution to sustainable development in their private and professional lives.
