    Aims

    Target group
    The workshop is aimed at doctoral students and postdocs from all faculties (except economics and business administration) who want to gain a basic understanding of business management issues (also with a view to their future career).

    Objective
    An understanding of business administration and business administration skills are increasingly required in many different areas of everyday professional life. Since the respective academic studies often do not impart this knowledge, this workshop provides a scientifically sound, fundamental as well as clear and practice-oriented introduction to the central areas of business administration.

    Content

    Based on common misconceptions and misunderstandings with regard to the goal and procedure of business management decision-making processes, the relevance for achieving goals in organizations will be developed in the workshop using examples. Based on the objectives, the market environment, possible organizational structures and production and sales management as relevant sub-areas of business administration will be discussed in more detail.

    Clemens Salm, graduate economist, moderator and lecturer. Part-time employee at the Wilhelm Oberle Foundation www.oberle-stiftung.de . Business management consulting for children's and youth facilities, project financing.

    Feature

    Once registration is open, applications will be collected for 24 hours and course places allocated by lot. All registrations received after the initial 24h period will be put on a waiting list and assigned on a first come, first served basis.

    Course places/places on the waiting list will be confirmed by e-mail. Course registrations can only be canceled before the registration period ends (send an e-mail to grace@unibas.ch). Full course attendance is mandatory. Participants who fail to attend a course without prior notification or withdraw after the registration deadline are subject to a fee of CHF 30. In addition, participants who cancel their course registration at a later point in time, are absent without an excuse or do not attend the entire course will, for reasons of fairness, not be considered for course registration in the following semester and will be removed from other courses offered in the same semester.
